2024 Washington, DC Super Lawyers Selects Tim Clinton for Inclusion for 9th Straight Year
For the ninth year in a row, Washington DC SuperLawyers Magazine has selected founding partner Tim Clinton to its list of "Super Lawyers." Clinton and partner Matt Peed were first selected for inclusion in the list of "Rising Stars" for 2014 and 2015; and partner Alec Rosenberg was selected for inclusion in the “SuperLawyers” lists of 2014 and 2015, before Clinton was first named to the “SuperLawyers” list in 2016.
SuperLawyers asserts that Clinton’s selection was the result of a “patented multiphase selection process” that combines “peer nominations and evaluations [with] third party research” based on “12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement”:
This selection is the result of ‘peer nominations and evaluations [with] third party research’ based on ’12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement.'
The objective is to create a credible, comprehensive and diverse listing of outstanding attorneys that can be used as a resource for attorneys and consumers searching for legal counsel. Since Super Lawyers is intended to be used as an aid in selecting a lawyer, we limit the lawyer ratings to those who can be hired and retained by the public, i.e., lawyers in private practice and Legal Aid attorneys. The Super Lawyers patented selection process involves three basic steps: creation of the candidate pool; evaluation of candidates by the research department; and peer evaluation by practice area. The selection process for the Rising Stars list is the same as the Super Lawyers selection process, with one exception: to be eligible for inclusion in Rising Stars, a candidate must be either 40 years old or younger or in practice for 10 years or less.
“My top priority, in growing this firm I started in 2008, was to bring in partners and other colleagues who share my fealty to the highest ideals of our profession, and my commitment to creating an environment exemplifying genuine concern for the wellbeing of our colleagues and our clients, as well as our opposing counsel,” says Tim. “I have been very fortunate to be surrounded by wonderful colleagues, whose insightful (and sometimes sharp) comments and critiques have dramatically improved my writing and advocacy, and whose support has meant the world when the inevitable setback has led to discouragement. I have been receiving ‘recognition’ like this for over a decade now, and I can confidently say that I have earned none of them alone.”
Tim is a trial lawyer and the managing partner of Clinton & Peed, and his practice focuses primarily on litigation and arbitration representing parties—individuals and businesses—that have been seriously injured or wronged, in a broad range of contexts (including breach of contract, business torts, fraud, and personal injury/medical malpractice).
