Tim Clinton Selected for the 2019 Irish Legal 100

The Irish Legal 100 has selected founding partner Tim Clinton to its list of approximately 200 honorees from around the United States for 2019. The Irish Legal 100 describes itself this way:

The Irish Legal 100, founded in 2008 by the Irish Voice newspaper in New York, is an annual compilation of the most distinguished legal professionals in the United States who share one common bond: pride in their Irish roots. Our list includes attorneys, legal scholars and members of the judiciary who have distinguished themselves in their fields of endeavor. Members include United States Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts, Justice Anthony Kennedy, United States Ambassador to Ireland Kevin O’Malley, Georgetown Law Dean William Treanor, CBS News correspondent Erin Moriarty and many more, including attorneys from some of the country’s top legal firms. Each fall our members are celebrated at a reception hosted by the Ambassador of Ireland to the United States.

We postponed this announcement until Tim could share it in person with the Irish-American patriarch of his family, 94-year-old grandfather Joe Clinton. Grandpa Joe left his family in the Bronx as a young man to serve his country as a Navy corpsman during World War II, and moved to the Midwest after the war to be with his wife Shirley. Grandpa Joe and Grandma Shirley celebrated their 76th wedding anniversary earlier this year, and the two of them have given their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren a tremendous legacy of love, hard work, and a commitment to serving others.

“I really wanted to share this honor with my Grandpa Joe,” Tim explains. “He has always been one of my greatest role models, and certainly is my greatest Irish-American hero. It is particularly special for me to be able to celebrate our shared Irish heritage with him, which we can trace back to Counties Clare and Louth.

“As for the legal recognition, I owe that to my colleagues here at Clinton & Peed. We have a deeply collaborative culture at the firm, and rarely does anything get done without substantial input (and improvements) from my colleagues. Collaboration is a major driver to our firm’s continued successes, and is a big part of what makes working here so rewarding.”

Tim Clinton is the founding partner of Clinton & Peed, and has a broad-ranging practice as a generalist that includes both litigation and trials, as well as business and advisory matters. As for disputes, Tim is generally known as a personal injury and medical malpractice lawyer, complex commercial and contract dispute lawyer, civil rights lawyer, and criminal defense lawyer. But as a former general counsel, he also represents a select group of business clients in a semi-outside general counsel role, advising on contracts and other transactions, providing guidance on employment issues and disputes, and helping them navigate local administrative agencies.
