2023 Washington, DC Super Lawyers Selects Tim Clinton for Inclusion
For eight years running, Washington DC SuperLawyers Magazine has selected founding partner Tim Clinton to its list of "Super Lawyers." Clinton and partner Matt Peed were first selected for inclusion in the list of "Rising Stars" for 2014 and 2015; and partner Alec Rosenberg was selected for inclusion in the “SuperLawyers” lists of 2014 and 2015, before Clinton was first named to the “SuperLawyers” list in 2016.
According to SuperLawyers, Clinton’s selection resulted from a “patented multiphase selection process” that combines “peer nominations and evaluations [with] third party research” based on “12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement”:
This selection is the result of ‘peer nominations and evaluations [with] third party research’ based on ’12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement.'
The objective is to create a credible, comprehensive and diverse listing of outstanding attorneys that can be used as a resource for attorneys and consumers searching for legal counsel. Since Super Lawyers is intended to be used as an aid in selecting a lawyer, we limit the lawyer ratings to those who can be hired and retained by the public, i.e., lawyers in private practice and Legal Aid attorneys. The Super Lawyers patented selection process involves three basic steps: creation of the candidate pool; evaluation of candidates by the research department; and peer evaluation by practice area. The selection process for the Rising Stars list is the same as the Super Lawyers selection process, with one exception: to be eligible for inclusion in Rising Stars, a candidate must be either 40 years old or younger or in practice for 10 years or less.
“If these honors mean anything,” says Tim, “it is that I have had the good fortune of surrounding myself with colleagues who challenge my thinking and care as deeply about our clients as I do. Most of what we do at Clinton & Peed involves substantial collaboration, and the work and advice of my colleagues dramatically improves anything that I sign and file, or any argument I make in court.”
Tim is a trial lawyer and the managing partner of Clinton & Peed (est. February 2008), and his practice focuses primarily on representing plaintiffs—individuals and businesses—that have been seriously injured or wronged, in a broad range of contexts (including breach of contract, business torts, fraud, and personal injury/medical malpractice).
