Our lawyers have the skills necessary to brief, argue, and win appeals. We have litigated criminal and civil appeals in both federal and state appellate courts. Our lawyers are also regularly appointed by courts to handle criminal appeals, and because we also try cases, we can better identify and develop appellate issues before it’s too late.
Among the cases handled by our lawyers:
Overturned summary judgment on a commercial lease relating to the enforceability of an option clause based on fair market value.
Regularly represent multiple criminal defendants in direct appeals in federal and local courts.
Conceived and briefed the successful argument in a seminal federal civil rights case involving either the fabrication of inculpatory forensic evidence or failure to produce exculpatory forensic evidence, where the plaintiff could prove that one of them occurred but could not prove which of them did.
Successfully briefed a D.C. Court of Appeals challenge to findings of the D.C. Office of Administrative Hearings that resulted in a favorable settlement with the D.C. Solicitor General’s Office.
Handled successful interlocutory appeal of a protective order in a commercial lease dispute.
